Interspectral and Partners Secure Funding for Groundbreaking Additive Manufacturing Project
Norrköping, Sweden
Interspectral, together with a consortium of leading industry and research partners, is proud to announce the award of funding for the RES2AM project—Resilient and Resource Efficient Additive Manufacturing of large/complex added value parts. The project led by research institute RISE and supported by swedish innovation agency Vinnova under the Net Zero Industry program, aims to revolutionize the manufacturing of large and complex metal components through advanced additive manufacturing (AM) technologies.
RES2AM brings together key players from Sweden’s industrial landscape, including GKN Aerospace, SAAB, SKF, Ringhals, as well as international technology providers such as Nikon SLM Solutions & Hexagon.
With a total budget close to 4 million EURO, RES2AM will develop and demonstrate a modular, reconfigurable, and intelligent AM system tailored for large and complex industrial components. The project will be validated in four industrial test beds—covering aerospace, defence, nuclear, and heavy machinery sectors—delivering measurable improvements in resource efficiency, resilience, and circularity.
“Interspectral is excited to expand our visualization and machine learning tools for in-situ monitoring, supporting digital quality assurance across multiple sensors and industrial environments,” says Isabelle Hachette, CEO of Interspectral. “This project positions Sweden at the forefront of sustainable, circular, and resilient manufacturing.”
The RES2AM project is set to accelerate Sweden’s transition to climate-neutral industry, supporting national and EU Green Deal goals, and establishing a blueprint for cross-sector adoption of advanced additive manufacturing.
Attendees can explore the joint solution at Formnext 2025, where Interspectral will showcase live demonstrations at Hall 11.1, Booth B38.
