Turtle
Posted in Animal Anatomy, Animal library
Description
Turtles use their jaws to cut and chew food, instead of having teeth the evolution seems to have given the species jaws horn ridges. They use their tongue to swallow food. However, unlike most reptiles, they are not able to catch food with their tongue.
As pets, the most common breeds are Russian Tortoises, spur-thighed tortoises, and red-eared sliders.
